Editorial policy

Source before assertion

Technical claims begin with a relevant primary source, normally Microsoft Support, Microsoft Learn, or Sysinternals documentation. The Atlas records the mechanism, phase, scope, inspection route, limitation, source, and checked date. When a field is not established, the page says so instead of filling the gap with an assumption.

Review and corrections

Pages are reviewed when a source changes materially or a reader reports a reproducible mismatch. A correction keeps the original question visible, states what changed, and updates the review date. A single test machine is not used to claim prevalence, universal safety, or a performance ranking.

Practical boundaries

Guides prefer observation and reversible changes. They do not identify unknown executables as safe or malicious, recommend deleting configuration without a reason, or offer individualized malware removal. The methodology gives the fuller review sequence.
