Sponsored content policy

Clear separation

Startup View may consider a relevant paid placement when it is useful to the reader and compatible with the site's Windows reference theme. A paid placement is identified on the page as sponsored content, uses an appropriate link qualification, and is recorded in the site's internal placement inventory.

Payment does not buy a technical claim, a source endorsement, a safety verdict, or a favorable editorial conclusion. Editorial pages remain governed by the sourcing and correction rules in the editorial policy. A sponsor cannot remove a material correction or change the scope of the Atlas.

Reader context

Readers should be able to distinguish a source-linked explanation from a commercial placement before following a link. The contact desk accepts questions about labeling, relevance, or disclosure.
